Three Colombian tourists stopped to help a family in Ha Giang clean up the messes left by Typhoon Bualoi, and their teamwork soon became a story shared and praised across social networks.

As Dinh Thi Binh and her family of three struggled to clear mud from their home in Ha Giang City on Oct. 2, they were surprised to receive help from the foreign visitors.

The travelers had been staying at a nearby homestay, and spotted Binh's family while walking past. With little hesitation, they stepped in.

"At first they helped carry a set of chairs. But once they saw the scale of the mess, they stayed, moving everything out and scraping mud from the house and yard," said local resident Hoang An.

An said the trio worked until the family's home was cleared, drawing thanks not only from the homeowners but also from neighbors who gathered to watch.

That evening, images of the effort spread on social media, sparking thousands of comments applauding the spirit of solidarity.

"They take home experiences you can't buy, such as carrying bricks, herding buffalo, and harvesting rice," one commenter wrote.

"This will be a memory they'll never forget," another added.

A video of foreign tourists helping residents in Ha Giang clean up after Typhoon Bualoi was shared on social media.

According to local tour guide Dinh Hung, such moments are not rare in Ha Giang. Many visitors seek authentic connections with communities. Just weeks earlier, images of Western tourists carrying bricks for a house construction went viral.

"They're warm and never hesitate to lend a hand whenever the opportunity arises," Hung said.

By the evening of Oct. 2, floodwaters that had risen up to three meters in parts of Ha Giang had receded. Roads reopened between Dong Van, Meo Vac, and the city center, though officials warned that landslide risks remain high.
