The honored dishes span many regional styles of pho including rare beef, chicken, vegetarian, mixed and stir-fried versions — and a strong showing of vermicelli dishes such as bun cha (grilled pork meatballs with vermicelli noodles), bun rieu (tomato and crab noodle soup), bun dau mam tom (rice vermicelli noodles with fried tofu and shrimp paste), and bun bo Nam Bo (southern-style beef noodle).
The list also recognizes other Vietnamese specialties including mi Quang (Quang-style noodles) and cao lau (roasted pork with thick noodles), highlighting the country’s wide regional diversity in noodle traditions.
Japan leads the list with 26 representatives, including several ramen versions.
The ranking was based on 453,720 valid ratings for 11,781 dishes in TasteAtlas database.
Founded in 2015, international food magazine TasteAtlas links 9,000 local restaurants and showcases tens of thousands of dishes based on reviews and research by culinary experts, chefs, and users.
