A video circulating online shows an Indian woman who ordered a vegetarian burger confronting staff at a McDonald's outlet in Singapore after reportedly being served a non-vegetarian one.

In the clip shared on Instagram by user @youngn.lost on Monday, the woman can be seen standing near the counter of a McDonald's outlet, speaking emotionally to a staff member.

"I am from India, how can you?" she says.

The staff member responds calmly, "I know you are from India," prompting the woman to reply, "Then how can you do this?"

According to the video, the woman claims she had ordered a vegetarian burger and was shocked to find out it contained meat.

She insists she is a regular McDonald’s customer and often eats vegetarian burgers at the chain’s outlets in India, Hindustan Times reported.

The clip also shows her explaining that the burger box did not mention it was non-vegetarian.

The post has drawn widespread attention, with netizens flooding the comments to share their views.

While some expressed sympathy for the woman, others blamed her for not checking the order.

One commenter wrote, "The staff are not obligated to check each customer’s dietary preferences. I would be extra careful to check before placing my order to ensure the food is vegan or vegetarian."

Another pointed out that she should have checked the box or burger properly before eating, as it was also her responsibility.

"Only McDonald in India serve vegetarian burger and nuggets," one user wrote.

"She speaks English so No excuse," commented another.

Several users also mentioned that many McDonald's outlets abroad, especially in Singapore, don't serve vegetarian food and that she should have known that before going there.

McDonald's Singapore's menu includes a range of chicken, fish, and beef options but does not feature vegetarian burgers.

The fast-food chain has not yet commented on the incident.
