Police in the central city of Da Nang on Tuesday helped two Russian and South Korean tourists to find their lost iPhones worth up to $1,200.

Russian Andrey Cacaev filed a report to local police officers, saying he had lost his $1,200-iPhone 13 Pro Max while walking on the street in the Ngu Hanh Son District, the city’s Department of Tourism said.

Based on camera surveillance, police discovered that Cacaev had dropped his iPhone while walking on Quach Thi Trang Street and returned the phone to him.

Cacaev wrote a letter to express his gratitude to local police for helping in finding his lost iPhone.

On Monday night, South Korean tourist Kim Ji Soo took a Grab taxi to the Son Tra Night Market but he left his iPhone XS in the car.

He later sought help from the local police to find his phone. A day later, police retrieved his iPhone and returned it to him.

"I have received my phone. I'd like to say thank you for the Grab taxi driver and police here," Soo wrote in a note to the police. "I appreciate this, sir!"

Da Nang, famous for its long, sandy beaches, received 483,000 foreign tourists last year, up 4.6 times from 2021.
