International tourists arriving at Da Nang International Airport starting Aug. 12 will receive free eSIMs with 8 GB of data for the first 24 hours of use.

The program, co-organized by Sun Group and MobiFone, aims to attract international visitors to the central Vietnam city during the third quarter, the tail end of the summer travel season, often a peak time for tourists from countries like South Korea and India.

All international guests can claim one free eSIM by scanning a QR code in the arrival hall of Da Nang International Airport. To be eligible, visitors must present a foreign passport, be at least 18 years old, and have a device with built-in eSIM capability. Activation requires downloading the Sun Paradise Land and Hi Vietnam apps.

Visitors will receive 8 GB of high-speed 5G data valid for the first 24 hours after activation. Afterward, they can purchase additional Hi Vietnam service packages. The most affordable option, HVN3, costs VND90,000 (US$3.43) and is valid for 3 days, offering 30 GB of data, 50 minutes of domestic calls, 5 minutes of international calls, and free access to the Hi Vietnam, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok apps. The premium bundle, HVN30, priced at VND300,000, is valid for 30 days and includes 300 GB of data, 300 minutes of domestic calls, and 30 minutes of international calls.

Additionally, users of the Hi Vietnam eSIM can receive discount vouchers from Sun World and its partners. Benefits include 5% off Sun World Ba Na Hills cable car tickets booked through the Sun Paradise Land app, up to 10% off food and beverage services at Sun World Ba Na Hills restaurants, discounts of up to 10% on souvenirs, and reduced fares on XanhSM taxis traveling to and from Ba Na Hills.

Tran Nguyen, Deputy General Director of the Entertainment & Resort Division at Sun Group, said the free eSIM promotion is part of efforts to enhance tourism experiences in Da Nang. "This is not only a practical gift but also a warm welcome from Da Nang to international friends. Sun Group is committed to continuing to accompany Da Nang in its journey to develop high-quality, smart, and friendly tourism."

Recently, Da Nang ranked among the top four most favored destinations for Korean tourists in summer 2025, according to data from Tripbtoz. The city attracts many Korean visitors thanks to its appealing experiences, affordable prices, and unique destinations.

"Da Nang's appeal comes from many prominent tourist attractions, particularly My Khe Beach, the Sun World Ba Na Hills complex, and Hoi An Ancient Town," the report states. Sun World Ba Na Hills welcomed nearly 500,000 Korean guests in the first half of 2025, with statistics showing that six out of ten tourists visit Ba Na Hills when in Da Nang.

"We believe technology can enhance the travel experience for international tourists by making it smoother, more convenient, and safer," a MobiFone representative stated.
