Bamboo Airways had suspended many domestic routes including those connecting to popular tourist hubs such as Phu Quoc and Da Lat from this month.

The carrier halted flights connecting Da Nang and the Central Highlands tourist city of Da Lat starting from Tuesday, it announced on its Facebook page, saying it needs to "ensure resources and prioritize operational efficiency."

Earlier, it suspended routes from HCMC to Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Da Lat and Pleiku.

According to the flight schedule until the end of March next year on Bamboo's website, it will be operating Da Lat flights to and from Hanoi only.

The Hanoi-Phu Quoc service was suspended from Tuesday.

Three weeks ago, it also suspended the HCMC-Phu Quoc route.

As the only Vietnamese airline to operate the route connecting Can Tho and Phu Quoc, Bamboo Airways last month also suspended the route.

The airline last month halted a series of international routes to Asian and European destinations.

Currently, the carrier operates a total of 32 domestic routes, including those connecting Hanoi and HCMC to Con Dao, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang and Hue.

Bamboo Airways appointed former leader of Pacific Airlines and Air Mekong Luong Hoai Nam as its new CEO last month amid major restructuring.

The carrier has been going through major leadership changes ever since its chairman Trinh Van Quyet was arrested in March last year for stock market manipulation and fraud.
