Though the vaccinations are not mandatory, tourists should do it for their safety, Bali health agency's acting head of disease prevention and control, Gusti Ayu Raka Susanti, said in a statement, The Straits Times reported.
Several Australian tourists were among those diagnosed with dengue in Bali, Antara News Agency reported.
Authorities have not released information about the number of tourists infected with the disease but instructed health officials to ensure availability of hospital beds and medicines for dengue patients.
So far this year there have been 4,177 dengue infections, including five deaths.
There had been 2,469 between January and March 2023.
