"The Roar of the Red River" exhibition

On the momentous occasion of the 69th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2023), the Hoa Lo Prison will host an exhibition titled "The Roar of the Red River."

This exhibition pays tribute to the resilience and sacrifices made by the soldiers and people of the capital, which played a pivotal role in the triumph of the resistance war against the French. The exhibition is divided into two compelling sections: "The Long Resistance War" and "Historic Return."

The first part of the exhibition portrays the journey undertaken by Hanoi in readiness for the challenging struggle ahead.

The second part of the exhibition shines a spotlight on the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, which holds significance in Vietnam's history as it compelled the French to sign the Geneva Accords and withdraw their troops from northern Vietnam.

"The Roar of the Red River" exhibition will be open to the public until December 30, 2023, at the Hoa Lo Prison, at 1 Hoa Lo Street, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hoan Kiem District. Tickets are VND30,000 ($1.20) per person.

"Plan of the summer" exhibition

Artigin Art Space, an extension of Hanoi Studio Gallery, presents their latest exhibition titled "Plan of Summer." The exhibition showcases the works of six artists, exploring the essence of summer and its significance in human life.

These six artists offer diverse interpretations of summer through their works, with themes ranging from gentle and subtle strength to vibrant and emotional expressions, exploring the interplay of old and new with a keen focus on the changing seasons and the enduring warmth they evoke.

The exhibition is open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will run from September 23 to December 31. Art lovers can visit the exhibit at Artigin Art Space, in the main lobby of the Lotte Mart Tay Ho office building, at 683 Lac Long Quan Street, Tay Ho District.

Hanoiween - The October Fair

The upcoming Hanoiween - The October Fair, set to take place at Hanoi Book Street, presents numerous activities for attendees. At the heart of this event is a Hanoi-themed Halloween festival, as well as a wide range of interactive workshops, including Henna painting, hand-stitching, and statue painting. Attendees can also expect to encounter numerous craft stalls, handmade jewelry, and a diverse array of entertaining items.

The October fairs at Hanoi Book Street, hosted at 19/12 Book Street, Hoan Kiem District, will be held on the following dates: Week 1 on October 7 and 8, Week 2 on October 14 and 15, Week 3 on October 20 (Friday) from 3:30 p.m. to 11 pm, and on October 21 and 22 (Saturday and Sunday) from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Week 4, also a special event called Falloween, is scheduled for October 28 and 29 (Saturday and Sunday) from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday Sanctuary

The event "Sunday Sanctuary" offers a relaxing day of activities as summer transitions to perfect pool weather. Participants can enrich themselves by attending workshops, enjoying a captivating fire show, engaging in yoga sessions, exploring the market for hidden treasures, and savoring an array of culinary delights at the bar. The event is open to all, creating a welcoming environment for children and animals.

The event will take place on October 15 from noon to 10 p.m. at Banana Island (going straight into Alley 76 An Duong, Tay Ho District). Tickets are available for VND250,000 per person.

Jazz voyage with Håkan Rydin and friends

Håkan Rydin, a co-founder of the Swedish band Nexus, brings a wealth of musical history and international performance experience to the stage. Håkan Rydin has performed with many respected artists, creating a distinctive and memorable musical legacy.

In an upcoming quartet performance at Long Waits, he'll be joined by three talented Vietnamese musicians, offering an extraordinary musical experience.

The jazz showcase starts at 8:30 p.m. on October 13 at Long Waits, 5 Nguyen Quang Bich Street, Hoan Kiem District, with tickets priced at VND250,000 per person. Guests have the option to buy tickets via the provided link.
