The centerpiece of the 3,000 square meter garden is a huge flowerbed in the shape of a trophy with the words "Vietnam Champion" on top, surrounded by large-size national flags in different shapes.
Located by the Red River on Thach Cau Street, Long Bien District, the garden has been attracting many visitors, especially during the weekend, including couples for pre-wedding post photoshoots.
Truong The Hung, who manages the flower garden, said he hired 15 people to work for more than two months to create a flower garden with the theme, "I love Vietnam!" to celebrate the successes of the Vietnamese football team in 2018 and as a ‘pep talk’ for the team's performance at the ongoing 2019 Asian Cup.
"This garden has more than 20 varieties of flowers, in which the gold cup is shaped with about 30,000 flowers. Fresh flowers grown in Vietnam," Hung said.
The workers use light and rice husk to nurture the flowers in cold weather. While light provides some warmth, rice husk improves soil fertility. It is expected that the garden will bloom until the end of March 2019.
Hung’s flower garden also has floral boats one of which carries Vietnam’s national flag.
The flowering plants are kept fresh, and replaced when they start to wilt.
Workers carefully tend each plant every day.
The garden attracts many visitors on the weekend. Many young couples are choosing it as a site for their wedding photoshoot.
