A driver parked his pickup truck on a slope without turning its engine off or putting its emergency brake on, leaving it to roll downhill into a coffee shop.

Dozens of people were enjoying the Ben Luc Town café in the Mekong Delta province of a Long An on Thursday when the ghost-ridden vehicle came careening down the hill and crashing into the establishment.

It first knocked away parked vehicles out front of the cafe before sending tables and chairs flying everywhere, and cafe customers running for their lives.

A middle-aged man did not get away in time and was injured when the truck hit him. He was later sent to hospital.

An investigation revealed that the truck’s driver did not turn off the engine and brake the vehicle after he got out of the pickup. The steep terrain caused the vehicle to slip away, sending it towards the café.
