World’s largest crypto exchange Binance looks for Vietnam chief
Binance, the world’s largest crypto trading platform, is looking for a general manager with 10 years’ experience to head its Vietnam operations from HCMC.

A recent job post on LinkedIn said the person would be responsible for hiring and managing teams for sales, marketing, finance, and customer service.

Candidates need to have at least a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management and strong government relations.

They need to show proven experience in senior management roles, preferably as a general manager or country manager, with experience in crypto, technology and financial services.

The HCMC Department of Science and Technology had said in November that Binance planned to set up a Vietnam office in the Startup and Innovation Hub of HCMC in Xuan Hoa Ward.

In September, at a meeting with Binance CEO Richard Teng during a trip to the United Arab Emirates, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh had suggested the exchange should establish its office in Da Nang and work with the Vietnamese government for launching a crypto exchange.

Teng offered to collaborate in developing the country’s crypto market and international financial centre.

The company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Da Nang government to develop blockchain technology and digital assets.

In an interview with VnExpress in July 2025, Teng said Binance views Vietnam as a key link in its strategy to develop and promote digital assets globally.

Binance is a global blockchain ecosystem with 300 million users in over 100 countries. Its services span trading and finance to education, research, payments, and institutional services.

Vietnam is piloting a crypto asset market, with the Ministry of Finance accepting applications for exchange licenses.

It has said around 10 securities firms and banks plan to participate.

Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi has said Vietnam will have "more than one exchange" to ensure competition, but with limited licenses to control risks.
