Apple unveiled the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max alongside its first foldable smartphone, the Duo, in the U.S. on Sept. 9.
The two Pro models went on sale in the first wave of markets on Sept. 18, drawing early crowds in several countries.
In Malaysia, buyers began lining up at Apple's The Exchange TRX store in Kuala Lumpur from 4:30 a.m., more than three hours before it opened, Malaysian tech news site SoyaCincau reported.
Hundreds also gathered at Dubai Mall in the UAE, with some buyers arriving as early as 3 a.m., according to Dubai-based newspaper Gulf News.
Vietnam, another first-wave market, saw thousands of customers turn up at authorized retailers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, where deliveries began at 8 a.m.
Vietnamese retailers said they had received more than 300,000 pre-orders for the two Pro models ahead of the launch, with the Pro Max accounting for most demand. Some buyers who ordered later face waits until October or November.
