Analytics platform Similarweb reported that in December vnexpress.net attracted 151.3 million visits, a 6% increase from the previous month, to rise six places in the overall global ranking to 275th.
The list is headed by the U.S.’ Yahoo (3.4 billion visits) and South Korea’s Naver (1.6 billion).
Among news and media publishers, VnExpress climbed four spots to rank alongside prominent outlets such as the U.S.’ Forbes and USAToday and India’s News18.
Domestically, it remains Vietnam's top-ranked website in the news and media category with a significant lead over competitors. It also ranks among the country’s most-visited websites alongside Facebook, Google and ChatGPT.
Its mobile app saw a jump of 58% in December to 147,000 downloads on Play Store, according to Similarweb. It records 76,800 downloads monthly on average.
At the National Press Conference in December 2024, it was recognized as one of the top 10 national media outlets for excellence in digital transformation in journalism.
Over the past year the website has focused on integrating AI and advanced algorithms into various stages of content production. These technologies support journalistic operations, editing workflows and the development of exclusive multimedia products.
Similarweb, established in 2007, is an Israeli provider of data on website traffic and app performance.
