Vietnam’s cheapest iPhone sees price increase

Vietnam’s cheapest iPhone, the five-year-old iPhone 13, has seen its price climb to VND12.5 million (US$480), about VND1 million higher than in late 2025.

Released in late 2021, the iPhone 13 is not the only older Apple handset to record an increase. Retail prices for the iPhone 15 and 16 have also inched up in recent months.

A spokesperson for a major retail chain told Dan Tri that prices have gone up mainly because of limited supply and swings in the U.S. dollar, which have pushed up import costs.

Apple officially discontinued the iPhone 13 lineup in September 2024, shortly after introducing the iPhone 16 series. Even so, the model continues to be sold through official channels in some markets, including Vietnam, where it remains the cheapest iPhone on offer.

Within the same price range, the iPhone 13 faces competition from several Android devices such as the Honor 400, Xiaomi 15T, Samsung Galaxy A56, vivo V60 Lite, and OPPO Reno15 F.
