iPhone 17 Pro Max Cosmic Orange color loses out as priciest model

On Monday a store on Su Van Hanh Street in HCMC sold the 256GB Cosmic Orange variant for VND45 million ($1,700) and the Silver for VND46-48 million ($1,740-1,820).

The 512GB models were VND50 million ($1,890) and VND54 million ($2,040).

Minh Hai, a store owner in Hanoi, is also selling the silver model for VND3-4 million ($110-150) higher than the orange one.

"The 256GB Silver version is almost out of stock," he said.

Cosmic Orange was in high demand at first as customers traditionally gravitate to a new color, but within three days after launch many retailers said the Silver model was "harder to find than the Orange version."

Another phone shop owner in Cau Giay District, Hanoi, said: "Online photos showing scratches on the iPhone 17 Pro Max Cosmic Orange have made some buyers consider the silver model."

Pre-orders for the iPhone 17 opened in Vietnam on Sept. 12 and deliveries started a week later.

The 256 GB orange version sold out within minutes, followed by the silver model.
