Prices of the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus have dropped sharply, by up to 19%, after Apple quietly discontinued the models following its mid-February launch of the new iPhone 16e.

The iPhone 14 (128GB) is now sold by local retailers for VND13 million (US$503), down 3.7% from last month and 19% lower than at the end of 2024.

The iPhone 14 Plus (128GB) now retails for VND18 million, down 5.3% from the previous month and 9.6% from late 2024.

Supply of both is declining steadily and they have also been removed from Apple’s official online store though they remain available through authorized resellers, as reported by Dan Tri.

Unlike in previous years Apple has chosen not to keep these older models as lower-cost options in its lineup.

Van Thi Ngoc Yen, head of Apple products at retail chain Di Dong Viet, says future availability remains uncertain.

"We still plan to import more units because the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus continue to attract customer interest. However, if no additional shipments arrive, stock could run out by early May. At that point the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will take their place."

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, launched in September 2022, were the last standard Apple models to use the Lightning charging port.
