The iPhone 13 price has reached its lowest level in Vietnam since being introduced in 2021: VND11.3 million (US$433).

It is currently the most affordable iPhone sold through Apple’s authorized channels, though only the 128GB version remains and only color options are black and white.

"After the price drop to just over VND11 million, sales of the iPhone 13 rose by about 10%," Dan Tri newspaper quoted a spokesperson for retailer Minh Tuan Mobile as saying.

"It has now taken over the sales volume once held by the iPhone 11 and 12 in the same period last year, and even exceeded our expectations."

The 11 and 12 have mostly been removed from official store listings as the 13 has taken over their position as Apple’s entry-level device in Vietnam.

Nguyen Lac Huy of retail chain CellphoneS said Apple has used similar pricing strategies for older models in previous years, and iPhone 13 sales have grown by 20% year-on-year since the adjustment.

Although the U.S. tech giant officially discontinued the model in September 2024 following the launch of the iPhone 16, it is still being sold in certain markets, including Vietnam.

"The current supply of the iPhone 13 is stable," Van Thi Ngoc Yen, Apple product manager at retailer Di Dong Viet, said.

"Our inventory can meet demand through early Q3, but no new shipments have been confirmed."

Retailers also noted that the price gap between the 13 and 14 is small, meaning Apple could soon phase out one of them.
