The Chinese tech giant unveiled the phone, first launched at home in November 2025, on its Vietnamese website on Tuesday.
Huawei last sold smartphones in Vietnam in April 2020 with the launch of the P40 Pro, before gradually scaling back operations and exiting completely as it lost access to Google services following U.S. trade restrictions.
According to VnExpress sources, the Mate X7 is expected to be available in Vietnam by late January or early February at not less than VND40 million (US$1,522), but is expected to include gifts and premium after-sales services.

The version sold in Vietnam will be identical to the international model available in Europe, running EMUI, Huawei’s Android-based user interface, rather than HarmonyOS, the company’s in-house operating system. The Mate X7’s arrival is expected to intensify competition in Vietnam’s high-end smartphone segment amid upcoming launches such as those of the photography-focused Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.
The X7 remains largely unchanged from its predecessor, the X6, in terms of design, but has a number of hardware upgrades. It meets IP58 and IP59 standards for water and dust resistance, measures 9.5 mm thick when folded and 4.5 mm when unfolded and weighs 235 grams, or four grams lighter than the X6.
The main display has been slightly expanded to 8 inches with an 8:7.3 aspect ratio, while the cover screen measures 6.49 inches with a 20.4:9 ratio.
The main camera keeps its 50-megapixel sensor with image stabilization for clearer photos, while the telephoto camera has been upgraded to 50 MP for sharper zoom shots. The third rear camera is a 40 MP ultra-wide lens. Two 8 MP selfie cameras are on the inner and outer screens.
The China-only version of the X7 uses Huawei’s most advanced chipset to date, the Kirin 9030 Pro, but the Vietnamese website has not disclosed what processor will be used. The phone is available in 12, 16 and 20 GB RAM versions with up to 1 TB of internal storage. It features a dual-cell silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 5,600 mAh, supporting 66 W wired fast charging and 50 W wireless charging.
It comes in black, white, purple, and red colors. In China, the base version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is priced at 12,999 yuan (US$1,864). The Collector’s Edition, which includes a case, stylus and other accessories, starts at 14,999 yuan for the 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage model, while the top version with 20 GB RAM and 1 TB storage costs 17,999 yuan.
