Rising American tennis talent Emma Navarro stands to inherit a slice of her tech billionaire father's staggering $4.8 billion net worth, making Wimbledon’s £3 million (US$4.1 million) prize pot look like pocket change.

Navarro, who will begin her Wimbledon campaign on July 1, against Petra Kvitová, already has a financial security that most players can only dream of. Regardless of her performance at the world’s oldest tennis tournament, her wealth places her among the most financially secure figures in the sport, the Daily Mail reported.

Raised in New York, Navarro is the daughter of tech billionaire Ben Navarro, founder and CEO of Sherman Financial Group, a company built around credit card and debt collection. As of June 30, Forbes estimates his net worth at $4.8 billion.

Ben, 62, and his wife Kelly have long supported Emma’s tennis career, according to People. In 2018, he purchased Charlestown Tennis LLC through his Beemok Sports company, which owns the Charlestown Open, the longest-running women-only tennis tournament. In 2022, he also invested nearly $300 million to acquire the prestigious Western and Southern Open.

Navarro’s parents have been fixtures at her tournaments, offering unwavering support throughout her journey. The young athlete often credits her father’s favourite phrase, "never give up," as a key influence on her mindset.

Despite her affluent background, Navarro’s success on the court is a result of hard work and dedication. She reached a career-high ranking of eighth in the world in September 2024.

Whether winning or losing, Navarro stays grounded, knowing she is "exactly where I need to be."

In a 2024 interview with the Tennis Channel, Navarro praised her father’s guidance: "I gotta give a lot of credit to my dad. He's probably the smartest guy I know and has dropped a lot of knowledge and wisdom on my siblings and I over the years," she shared. "He's taught me a bunch about the perspective I need to take."
