Tech billionaire Bill Gates attends Bezos and Sánchez wedding in Venice with girlfriend Paula Hurd

Gates, 69, and Hurd, 62, joined the welcome party on Thursday at a cloister next to the Madonna dell’Orto church, People magazine reported. The couple wore matching black outfits, with Hurd in an off-the-shoulder dress accessorized with a diamond necklace and stud earrings.

On Friday, the pair were spotted visiting the Gallerie dell’Accademia di Venezia, a museum known for its 19th-century art, according to the Daily Mail. They dressed casually in coordinated black ensembles for the outing.

Gates wore a black polo shirt, shorts, and sneakers, along with a matching belt and hat. Hurd opted for a black two-piece skirt set with heeled sandals, diamond jewelry, and black sunglasses. They were later seen boarding a water taxi to an undisclosed location. The couple also attended an evening wedding event that same day, with Gates in a black suit without a tie and Hurd in the same elegant dress.

While the weekend drew attention from celebrity guests, Gates and Hurd kept a low profile. U.S. First Daughter Ivanka Trump, one of around 200 guests, stood out in a $9,990 Oscar de la Renta mini dress.

Gates and Hurd’s relationship became public in February 2023, nearly two years after Gates and Melinda French Gates finalized their divorce after 27 years of marriage.

The pair had previously been seen together at several events, including the Laver Cup tennis tournament in September 2022 and the Australian Open in January 2023. They also attended Bezos and Sánchez’s engagement party in August 2023 aboard the billionaire’s yacht off Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

In February 2025, Gates publicly addressed the relationship for the first time during an interview on the Today show. "I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula," he said. "We’re having fun. Going to the Olympics and lots of great things," he added.
