Apple plans to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup, including the base model, Air, Pro, and Pro Max, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, according to GSMArena, citing "internal information from German mobile phone providers" shared by German tech site iPhone Ticker.
This timing aligns with predictions from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, known for his in-depth reporting on Apple, who previously suggested that Apple’s announcement would take place during the second week of September, with Sept. 9 or 10 as the most likely dates, according to MacRumors.
Following Apple's typical pattern, pre-orders for the iPhone 17 would likely begin on Sept. 12, with devices expected to reach customers and retail stores on Sept. 19.
The launch event will likely cover key markets, including the U.S., China, Europe, and Japan. Alongside the new flagship phones, Apple is expected to announce new models of the Apple Watch, including the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 11, and Apple Watch Ultra 3, with the possibility of a new AirPods Pro 3.

The iPhone 17 Air is reportedly replacing the Plus model, offering a significantly slimmer design, making it a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, according to TechRadar.
Sources also indicate that the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will feature a redesign, returning to an aluminum body. The rear camera system will transition from a square shape to a full-width rectangular design, resembling the Google Pixel 9 Pro.
The camera array will retain its triangular layout on the left side, but the LED flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor will be repositioned vertically on the right side. The new models will feature the A19 Pro chip, 12 GB of RAM, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens. Additionally, the front camera will be upgraded to 24 megapixels, doubling the resolution from the previous generation.
