When I go to work and no one is home, I usually turn off the lights and fans but have never thought about switching off the router. However, a friend suggested turning it off for better security and to give the device a "rest." I would like to ask experts and experienced readers whether this is actually necessary, and whether I should leave my router on continuously 24/7.
