Miss Vietnam suddenly leaves catwalk amid fashion show

Closing Linh’s wedding gown show on Nov. 4, the beauty queen donned a mermaid dress with a long detachable tail which fell apart as she reached the middle of the runway.

Instead of completing her walk, Vy left the runway and returned backstage. She came back wearing the dress only, with the originally-attached tail removed.

Her sudden disappearance made many among the show’s attendees confused. Some said she was not professional for leaving the stage without any prior notice.

Vy subsequently clarified her behavior, saying the performance would have been ruined if she had kept walking with the troubled outfit. She said she showed respect towards the outfit she was showcasing by going backstage and having her entourage fix it.

Linh also voiced her support for Vy and praised the beauty queen for her creative and quick reaction.

"I understand Vy’s solution when her dress gets into trouble," the designer said. "I’m totally satisfied with her performance."

Vy, 23, has become many fashion designers’ favorite face since she was crowned the 2018 Miss Vietnam pageant winner. She has acted as the main model in many fashion shows.
