VnExpress Marathon record breakers to receive Vinfast electric bikes

Vinfast VFe34 electric cars will be awarded to male and female athletes who break national marathon records. Currently, Nguyen Chi Dong is a national record holder, with a time of 2:21:51, set at the 22nd SEA Games held in Vietnam in 2003. For women, the record of 2:45:9 was set by Hoang Thi Thanh at the National Athletics Championships in 2016.

Athletes who break the record at any VnExpress marathons will receive Vinfast Feliz electric motorbikes. Trinh Quoc Luong set the best time of 2:31:6 at VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2020, while Hong Le set the female record of 2:52:41 at VnExpress Marathon Quy Nhon 2019.

For breaking the age group records of VnExpress marathons (under 30, from 31-39, from 40 to 49, over 50), athletes will receive VND2 million ($87.44) in cash.

The organizers said prizes for the record-breaking category and list of Top 100 runners will boost the upcoming race in Hue. "We aim to create a fair, professional race with valuable rewards."

The results of record-breaking athletes are still counted and awarded according to the general structure by the organizers. If there is more than one athlete breaking the record, VnExpress Marathon Hue 2022 will only consider those with the highest achievements.

VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2022 will receive IAAF - AIMS certificate before the starting date. The participants can use achievement as part of the criteria to register for major marathons in the world such as the Boston Marathon, Chicago Marathon or New York City Marathon.
