VnExpress Marathon Nha Trang increases cash prizes

The male and female winners of the 42 km distance will receive VND44 million in cash and assets, including a Garmin Epix Gen 2 watch and Xtep shoes.

The runners-up and second runners-up will receive prizes worth VND21.2 million and VND17.2 million, including cash, Garmin watches, and Xtep shoes.

To be recognized among the top three finalists, professional athletes must comply with the tournament's general rules. Their results should be under 2 hours 45 minutes for men and under 3 hours 10 minutes for women.

This season, the full marathon will apply new rules for international athletes. Foreign runners with a previous record of less than 2 hours 30 minutes for men and under 2 hours 50 minutes for women will be considered professional athletes. Otherwise, the organizers will transfer their results to the age category. The rule does not apply to amateurs.

The half marathon also has prizes for the top three finishers, worth VND23.2 million, VND21.2 million, and VND11.5 million.

With the age category, runners applying for the full and half marathon will be divided into groups of under 30, from 31 to 39, from 40 to 49, from 50 to 59, and from 60 and above. The top 3 finalists will receive prizes.

The 10 km distance has first, second, and third prizes, worth VND6 million, VND5 million, and VND4.5 million. Three prizes of top 5 km finishers are worth VND5 million, VND4 million, and VND3.5 million.

The total prize value at VnExpress Marathon Marvelous Nha Trang 2023 is nearly VND1.5 billion.

All runners who reach the finish line and complete the valid course will receive a medal. Besides, half and full marathon runners with valid results will receive a finisher shirt.

VnExpress Marathon Marvelous Nha Trang 2023 kicks off at 3 a.m. on August 13 at the April 2 Square, starting with the 42 km distance. Runners competing in the distance of 21 km will start at 4 a.m., 10 km distance at 5 a.m. and 5 km at 5:15 am.

The award ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. on the same day at Khanh Hoa Provincial Convention Center, No. 46, Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang City.
