The VnExpress Marathon Amazing Halong in the northern Quang Ninh Province has been advanced to August 1 this year from the earlier scheduled date of September 19.

Organizers told local authorities that they need to prepare resources for the organization of many national championships and preparation events for SEA Games in September.

After several days of discussion the Quang Ninh Province People's Committee and the province's Department of Culture and Sports agreed to move the event to August 1 to ensure security and the health of the participants.

The organizers have reduced the entry fee by 30 percent for Super Early Bird tickets that will be sold for 18 days.

Super Early Birds running the full and half marathons will also get a finisher souvenir T-shirt with their name on it if they reach the finish line before the allotted time. For groups of 50 people or more, the group's name will be printed on the shirts.

The VnExpress marathon will be run in Ha Long for the first time after the four earlier ones were held in Quy Nhon, Hanoi and Hue.

Ha Long has several roads along the ocean that have just been upgraded and widened.

Besides, attractions like Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, the sacred Yen Tu peak, and Tuan Chau Island and food specialties are expected to provide unforgettable memories to athletes making the trip here.

You can register for the Super Early Bird tickets here.
