Ly Hoang Nam defeated Lebanese player Hady Habib in the final of M15 Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt on Sunday.

Nam, 886th in world rankings, was considered weaker than Habib (654th). However, he started the game strong and won the first set 6-2.

In the second set, Nam continued his powerful approach. With the score 4-4, he didn’t let the game enter the third set and won 6-4 to claim the third single title in his career.

Before playing Habib in the final, Nam bested Canada’s Kelsey Stevenson and Italia’s Marco Micelli in the quarter and semifinals.

In the previous M15 tournament last week, Nam lost to Habib in the round of 16.

This is Nam’s fourth M15 tournament in Egypt since early October. He pocketed $2,160 for this title and got 10 more ranking points.

Nam, 24, has won a total of nine titles throughout his career, including doubles.

He will continue to compete in a few more M15 tournaments in November to improve his current world ranking.
