Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Duc Anh Chien had the best combined average point per turn in the World Three-Cushion Championship for National Teams.

The average point per turn (avg) of Vietnam was even higher than champions Turkey. The Turkish duo Can Capak and Tayfun Tasdemir had an avg of 1,729 while the Vietnamese cueists got 1,780.

Vietnam were eliminated by Germany in the quarterfinals with two wins. Martin Horn won 20-28 against Quyet Chien while Ronny Lindermann defeated Anh Chien 40-34.

"With the highest avg in the tournament, it can be said that Vietnam were unfortunate when they exited the tournament from the quarterfinals," billiards expert Bert van Manen said.

Turkey successfully defended its title, beating Colombia in the final on Sunday.

This is the second time after 2019 that Vietnam entered the quarterfinals of World Three-Cushion Championship for National Teams. Then, the team were eliminated by the Netherlands.

The World Billiard Federation awarded Quyet Chien and Anh Chien a bonus of 2,400 euros (around $2,600) for their performance.

The 2022 Las Vegas World Cup from March 27 to April 2 will be the next international tournament for the Vietnamese players.
