Camila Giorgi, known for her powerful groundstrokes and striking appearance, has officially confirmed her retirement from tennis.

"I’m happy to formally announce my retirement from my tennis career," Giorgi posted on her Instagram. "I am grateful for your wonderful love and support for so many years. I cherish all the beautiful memories."

The Italian tennis beauty has competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments, with her best result being reaching the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2018.

Giorgi’s highest world ranking was 26th in 2018. In 2021, she also reached the quarterfinals of the Tokyo Olympics. Her achievements included four WTA Tour titles.

The Sun reported that Giorgi may have left tennis to pursue a side career as a model. On her Instagram, she often posts photos of herself as a brand model, with few photos of training and competing.

Giorgi's Instagram has attracted over 740,000 followers. However, her introduction still reads that she is a professional tennis player.

"There have been many rumors about my future plans, so I hope to provide more information about the interesting opportunities I will have in the future," she stated.

Giorgi, 32, started playing tennis when she was 5. She once expressed her dream to become a fashion designer or a writer after retiring from tennis.
