German track and field athlete Alica Schmidt, known as the "world's sexiest athlete," has debuted her first tattoo as a memory of the Paris Olympics 2024.

On Instagram on Nov. 5, Schmidt shared a glimpse of her first tattoo: five intertwined rings symbolizing her participation in the Paris Games.

She posted a story captioned: "About to do something...." Soon after, she posted a video from a tattoo parlor, showing herself lying on the table as a tattoo artist began the work. The video also featured a shot of Berlin’s iconic Fernsehturm TV tower before revealing her new tattoo on the side of her high thigh.

"I'm sooo happy. It turned out exactly how I wanted it," Schmidt, 26, who was named the sexiest in the world by Busted Coverage magazine in 2017, wrote in the caption.

The tattoo commemorates Schmidt's debut at the Olympics, where she competed in the 4x400m mixed relay and the women's 4x400m relay.

In the previous Olympics in 2021, she had been selected only as a reserve.

Schmidt, who won silver in the women’s 4x400m relay at the 2017 European U20 Championships and bronze at the 2019 European U23 Championships, has been candid about her struggles.

"As an athlete I am still not where I want to be and maybe I will never be," she said after the Paris Olympics. "And to those athletes who didn't make it to Paris this year, never stop believing in yourself. It's a bumpy road and one day all your hard work will eventually pay off!"

Schmidt has also raised concerns about the financial challenges for track and field athletes, revealing that she earned less than US$800 last year while representing Germany.

She once turned down a lucrative six-figure offer that she did not feel comfortable with as she wanted to focus on her athletic career and building her social media presence, Daily Mail reported.

Schmidt, who famously raced and beat German star footballer Mats Hummels in 2021 and challenged Erling Haaland to a race, has a significant online following, with over 5.8 million Instagram followers.

She is reportedly dating photographer Fredi Richter-Mendau, 27, with the couple spotted together at a national qualifying event in June.

However, Schmidt has yet to make the relationship public on her social media.
