Skiing and snowboarding are some of the most dangerous sports.
For athletes who are on top of their game, the risk is worth taking, as their accolades lead to lucrative deals that push their net worth through the roof once they become household names of the sport.
Here are the seven richest skiers and snowboarders in the world, according to data from Celebrity Net Worth.
7. Mikaela Shiffrin

Born in Vail, a ski resort town in Colorado, U.S., Shiffrin, 29, is the youngest competitor to have ever won an Olympic gold medal in the slalom event. She also has more World Cup wins than any alpine skier in history, man or woman, according to The Wall Street Journal.
