According to Andy Ho, Executive Producer at Riot Games, the company spent the first five years laying a strong foundation, expanding Valorant across platforms including PC, PlayStation, and soon, mobile devices in China. The game's popularity in various regions, particularly Vietnam, has surpassed the team’s expectations.
"The Vietnamese gaming community is a passionate force. Your passion and competitive spirit contribute to shaping the future of Valorant in Asia and beyond," Ho said.
He also noted that events such as Vietnam GameVerse and smaller-scale tournaments held in the country have played a key role in expanding Valorant's presence on the global esports map.

Connecting a community
"Most of our team are gamers, so working with people who share the same interests and passion to create Valorant is a dream come true," Ho said.
Beyond regularly incorporating player feedback, the developers also test the game from a player's perspective to better tune gameplay.
"From balancing agent abilities to reworking characters and maintaining a stable meta - everything we do aims to ensure the experience remains fair, engaging, and consistent," Ho added.

Today, Valorant serves not only as a competitive game but also as a community hub. During the pandemic, when social interaction was limited, online multiplayer games like Valorant became virtual meeting grounds. Many players, especially young people exploring new environments or struggling with loneliness, found connection and friendship through the game.
"There are players who've made lasting friendships and even watched Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) tournaments together. Stories like these inspire us - the people behind the virtual world of Valorant," Ho said.

Looking ahead, Riot Games has pledged to invest significantly in Valorant over the next five years, aiming to enhance both its technical aspects and cultural significance. The company plans to maintain balanced gameplay, optimize performance, improve anti-cheat systems, and refine matchmaking and rankings.
Simultaneously, Riot will continue developing the VCT system, bringing high-quality esports experiences to fans and players in Vietnam and around the world.
"We want players to feel proud to be a part of Valorant," Ho said.
While future content details remain under wraps, Riot confirmed it will continue introducing new characters and content that reflect the gaming community's diversity, while preserving the core values that have driven Valorant's success over the past five years.
