Organized under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sports and the City Athletics Federation, the marathon is one of the city's most prominent community sporting events. Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) continues as the title sponsor, while Sunrise Events Vietnam serves as the organizer.
The race kit takes inspiration from HCMC's development journey and features a drawstring bag, a race shirt, a finisher shirt for marathon runners, and a finisher medal—each designed to blend modern aesthetics with symbolic meaning.

Its central design integrates three iconic symbols: Ben Thanh Market, representing the city's rich cultural and commercial heritage; Binh Duong Administrative Center, symbolizing the vitality of emerging urban areas; and the Vung Tau Lighthouse, marking the link between the mainland and the sea.
Together, these elements reflect the connection between major southern economic hubs and the city's ambition for growth in its new, expanded form.

Beyond its design, the race kit carries deep emotional and practical significance. It symbolizes pride and belonging for those who live, study, and work in HCMC—encouraging runners to continue serving as ambassadors of health, resilience, and city pride.
This year, Xtep returns for the fourth consecutive season as the exclusive apparel sponsor, ensuring runners enjoy maximum comfort throughout their race experience.
In 2025, Techcombank also joins hands with the "Cham Yeu Thuong" (Touch of Love) Foundation to launch the virtual charity run "Run for the Future of Vietnamese Children", contributing VND4.2 billion (US$159,600) to fund surgeries and rehabilitation for children with lower-limb deformities, helping them walk confidently on their own.
Through the VRun platform, the virtual charity run—taking place from Oct. 27 to Nov. 17, 2025—invites participants nationwide to combine fitness with philanthropy while raising funds for children in need.
With continuous innovation and meaningful community initiatives, the 8th Edition of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon remains Vietnam's largest and most prestigious running event, inspiring tens of thousands to pursue active and healthy lifestyles.
The 2025 race is expected to attract over 20,000 domestic and international runners, furthering its mission to connect communities, promote tourism, and elevate Vietnam's marathon scene to regional prominence.
Ahead of the main race, the 10th Anniversary of Mass Participation World (MPW25) congress will take place on Dec. 4–5, under the theme "Moving From Events to Ecosystem: Harnessing Global Headwinds to Build Our Future Together."
The congress will convene global experts in sports, health, and tourism to share insights on building integrated sports ecosystems that foster community, cultural, and economic growth. Immediately afterward, the official press conference for the 8th Edition of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon will be held on Dec. 5, followed by the main race on Dec. 7.
The race course remains AIMS-certified (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races), ensuring internationally recognized results and offering runners qualification opportunities for major global events such as the Boston Marathon and London Marathon.
