Park Hang-seo has signed a fresh three-year contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), his agent said.

Lee Dong-jun said: "We signed with the VFF the contract on Tuesday afternoon. All parties are satisfied. I hope a new era would be ushered in once more in Vietnamese football."

Park's current contract runs out in January, and the two parties have been involved in negotiations for several months.

It is not yet known what the terms and benefits are, but details, including his salary, are expected to be released this week.

Under his previous contract, he was paid $20,000 a month. There has been speculation that Park will be paid a bigger salary.

Park said after signing the contract: "Vietnamese football has had considerable achievements in the last two years. [But] there are still things that need improving. My role is to make the Vietnamese teams even stronger.

The South Korean took over the team in 2017, and Vietnam have since reached the semifinals of the 2018 Asian Games and the quarterfinals of the 2019 Asian Cup, won the 2018 AFF Championship and were runners-up at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship.

Under the new contract, Park will be in charge of three men's teams, the national team, the U23 team and the Olympic team. Vietnam's national football team will play two World Cup qualification matches against UAE and Thailand this month. The U23 team will participate in the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines from November 25 to December 10.
