Tran Quoc Tuan, vice chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), has been appointed to the executive board of ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup.

The executive board has five members, including ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) President Khiev Sameth of Cambodia and Tuan, who is also an AFF board member, deputy head of the competition committee and member of the development committee.

Apart from Tuan, Vietnam has Dang Thanh Ha who will be involved in the AFF Cup as a referee supervisor.

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic poses many challenges in the organization and administration of the tournament, so the executive board will focus on coordinating with Singapore to organize the tournament and be ready to handle any urgent problem.

The AFF Cup will take place in Singapore from December 5, 2021 to January 1, 2022. Vietnam, the defending champions, are in group B with Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos.

The Vietnamese team are training in southern beach town of Vung Tau to prepare for the tournament.
