Over the past week, social media has been flooded with posts claiming that a 31-year-old businessman from Porto Alegre, Brazil has passed away, leaving a fortune worth $1 billion to Neymar. The story, first reported in 2023, has once again captured the public's attention, this time at a much more viral scale.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, a will exists, and it was registered at a Porto Alegre notary office in June 2023, naming Neymar as the sole heir. However, the actual fortune of this so-called billionaire has not been verified. It remains unclear whether the man has truly passed away or if he even exists.

The Brazilian Notary Association (Colegio Notarial do Brasil) has confirmed the authenticity of the will. Local media reported that the man, 31, who wished to remain anonymous, was single, has no children and was a longtime Neymar fan.
In interviews with Metropoles, he explained that his decision was driven by admiration for Neymar and the lack of a direct heir. He felt like the Brazilian football star was the only reliable choice. Despite attempting to contact Neymar’s team, he received no response.
More than two years later, the story has gone viral after being mentioned on a Brazilian TV show, sparking widespread debates across social media and coverage from outlets.
Despite the existence of the will, there is no evidence proving the businessman owns assets worth $1 billion. Brazilian newspaper Tribuna de Minas emphasized that there is no official evidence that Neymar will receive that amount of money.
The Brazilian star currently has a net worth of around $350 million.
