The Sun reported that a few hours before the match against the Czech Republic on Wednesday morning (Hanoi time), Ronaldo spent time meeting three fans waiting patiently outside. He was seen crawling through bushes taller than an average person to where the fans were standing. The football star stood behind the iron fence and took a selfie with them before returning to his teammates.

Since arriving in Germany, Ronaldo has become the center of attention. During Portugal’s first training session last week, thousands of fans came to watch him. One fan even jumped over the fence and hugged the superstar striker during training.
Before playing his first match at Euro 2024, Ronaldo posted a message to fans and the Portugal national football team on Instagram.
"Portugueses, today starts another chapter of our history. I fondly remember my first day with the national team, a journey filled with challenges and triumphs. Now, I have the honor to once again stand alongside a team of champions, full of talent and determination. With the strength and support of everyone, we turn dreams into reality. Let's fight together for another triumph. United we are unstoppable," he wrote.
In the match against Czech Republic, the 39-year-old striker was in the starting line-up and set a record of competing in six consecutive Euro tournaments. He showed his excitement by sprinting toward Czech’s goal even before the ball was served.
"That man was too excited," one fan wrote. Another commented: "What is he doing? Does he think he’s at the Olympics?"

However, Ronaldo did not have an easy match. He had many opportunities to score but missed them all. Portugal conceded in the second half despite having more possession. Seven minutes later, CR7 and his teammates equalized thanks to an own goal from Robin Hranac. Portugal sealed the 2-1 victory with young talent Francisco Conceicao’s goal in the second minute of injury time.
In the other group F match, Turkey defeated Georgia 3-1. Turkey are Portugal's opponent in their second match on June 22.
