Le Duc Canh will not be allowed to referee in the next two rounds of V. League 2021 after inaccurate decisions in a match.

According to Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Canh failed to respond correctly during two instances of violent play by Hanoi FC players Nguyen Van Quyet and Bui Hoang Viet Anh during their game against SHB Da Nang on April 2.

In the last minute of the first half, French forward Papa Ibou Kébé fell down after being fouled by defender Tran Van Kien. Instead of stopping play, Viet Anh kicked the ball onto Kébé’s chest, leading to a brief altercation between players of both sides. The referee showed Viet Anh the yellow card. On Monday, the defender was suspended for three league games and fined VND15 million ($652) by VFF.

After reviewing the match, head of VFF’s Referee Department Duong Van Hien said Canh was supposed to have given Viet Anh a red.

Canh made another mistake in the same game after showing Nguyen Van Quyet a mere yellow in the 85th minute after the Hanoi FC skipper ran straight into defender Janclesio Santos while vying for the ball. He was suspended for two games and also fined VND 15 million.

Hanoi FC will play their next game against V. League title defender Viettel FC on Wednesday.
