Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, have decided to separate after more than three decades together.

The couple met in 1994 when Guardiola was a 23-year-old player of Barcelona and Serra was 20. They married in a private ceremony near Barcelona in 2014 and have three children: Maria (24 years old), Marius (22) and Valentina (17).

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, the separation is amicable, with the two maintaining a "cordial, stable, and friendly" relationship.

For over five years, they have reportedly not lived together, with Serra residing in Barcelona with their youngest daughter Valentina, while Guardiola remained in Manchester.

Serra returned to Spain in 2019 to focus on her family's fashion company, Serra Claret, which features luxury brands often worn by Guardiola.

Despite living apart, the couple maintained a romantic relationship and were seen together in public.

In June 2023, Serra, a former journalist and writer, came to Istanbul to celebrate with her husband after Manchester City's Champions League triumph over Inter Milan. The couple also watched Wimbledon together in July.

Guardiola frequently spoke highly of his wife in public. In an interview with Men In Blazers, he said: "My wife is the best in the world at many things, but especially in fashion. So she says normally to me, don't wear this or wear that, so I follow her."

Reports suggest the couple decided to separate in December 2023, keeping the news private among close family members.

Guardiola, 53, who has managed Man City since 2016, recently extended his contract until 2026. During his tenure, he led the club to unprecedented success, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cup titles, three League Cup titles and a historic treble in 2023.

Under Guardiola, Man City became the first club to reach 100 points in the Premier League (2017-2018 season), the first club to win four domestic titles in one season (2018-2019) and the first club to win four consecutive Premier League titles.
