The Japan national football team have arrived in Hanoi for their upcoming World Cup qualifying clash with Vietnam on Nov. 11.

Head coach Hajime Moriyasu and over 20 team members arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on Sunday night. The team will stay in the same hotel as Vietnam in Cau Giay District.

To prepare for the match, Moriyasu called up 28 players, 17 of whom play in top European leagues.

"I don’t know what I can teach the players within only a few days before playing Vietnam, but obviously they have to show great fighting spirit and teamwork," Moriyasu said.

Japan are currently in fourth place in group B with six points from their first four games. They are six points behind leaders Saudi Arabia, with only the top two finishers guaranteed a World Cup spot in Qatar next year.

Vietnam are still looking for their first point after four games.

The match between Vietnam and Japan will take place at 7 p.m. on Nov. 11 at My Dinh National Stadium. It will be reported live on VnExpress International.
