"We lost so I have nothing to say. I don't know what to say," Park said in the post-match press conference.
The Vietnam head coach made five changes to the lineup in the second leg compared to the 0-2 lost in the first leg. Vietnam played pressing right at the start and dominated the first half with nine shots, while Thailand only had four. However, Vietnam players lacked accuracy in their finishes to score a goal.
After the first half, Park used up all the substitutions to strengthen the offense but the defending champions still struggled to find the way to Thailand’s net as the opponent set up a defense with big number of players in the midfield.
"It’s clear that Vietnam have failed. The team didn’t make it to the final. It’s unfortunate to lose. We admit our failure, but the team have given all they got. I cannot evaluate on whether Vietnam are still the strongest team in Southeast Asia or not, but we are confident to take on any opponent," Park added.
