Aquaman Vietnam in Binh Thuan is a plus for tourists: official

Participating in the DNSE Aquaman Vietnam press conference on Thursday in Phan Thiet, Huynh Ngoc Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Binh Thuan Province, said Aquaman Vietnam is not just a sports tournament, but is also a new type of tourism: one that is combined with sports.

In the first nine months of the year, Binh Thuan welcomed 7 million visitors, exceeding the target for 2023.

According to Tam, it is forecast that by the end of the year, the province will welcome 8 million visitors, including contribution from the Aquaman Vietnam tournament. "It is a good opportunity for Binh Thuan to promote its image to a large number of athletes, their friends, and relatives."

This is the first time Binh Thuan has hosted a swimming-running biathlon tournament with many distances, operated by a leading running tournament system in Vietnam.

As soon as the plan is developed, the Provincial People's Committee coordinates with departments and branches to establish an organizing committee and coordinates with VnExpress Marathon to ensure the highest quality conditions for competition and accommodation for 1,500 athletes.

Ngo Manh Cuong, deputy head of the tournament's organization board, said athletes are the prime focus of all VnExpress Marathon tournaments.

"The organizers always make improvements in organization to ensure smooth operation and safety for athletes. At the same time, we aim to contribute to promoting the economy and society of the locality."

DNSE Securities Company expressed its delight at having the opportunity to contribute to the movement of physical training and sports.

According to Pham Thi Thanh Hoa, General Director of DNSE Securities Company, Aquaman Vietnam and DNSE found common ground in the partnership.

"The common point between Aquaman Vietnam and DNSE is pioneering. If DNSE wishes to create a digital stock market, then Aquaman Vietnam is the place to create dreams for athletes who have never participated in a duathlon," she said.

DNSE Aquaman Vietnam will take place on Sunday, Oct. 29. All athletes will start at Bikini Beach at NovaWorld Phan Thiet.

The three distances of the tournament are Aquaman (2 km swim, run 21 km run), Half Aqua (1 km swim, 10 km run), and Sprint Aqua (500 m swim, 5 km run), starting at 6 a.m., 6:30 a.m., and 7 a.m., respectively.

The children's competition, Aqua Kid, took place one day earlier. The race for children starts at 7 a.m. on Saturday. The children took turns swimming 200 meters and conquering the 1-kilometer run.
