300 foreign runners to compete at VnExpress Marathon Hue 2023

VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2023 is the race with the most foreign runners in the VnExpress Marathon system so far. The lastest one, VM Ho Chi Minh City Midnight, was joined by more than 100 foreign athletes.

More than 50 foreign runners at the Hue race are from Japan, and some of them achieved high results in past tournaments and are potential candidates for top age group rankings.

Some outstanding names include Akiyiki Saito, Ehara Takeo, Yoshitaka Togashi, Sueyoshi Tomohiro, and Akane Nemoto, familiar faces on VnExpress Marathon's winners podium.

VM Hue 2023 will also welcome many Japanese runners who come for their first race in Vietnam.

Other participants are from Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, India, the Netherlands, Spain, the U.K., and the U.S.

There are five runners from Africa in the unofficial list, registering for the 21 km distance. Nigerian runner Emmanuel Otiji, who has been running for three years, has only participated in two major tournaments in Vietnam including the VM Ho Chi Minh City night run, where he finished the half marathon in less than two hours (sub 2).

South African Lewis Lee Trevor, who completed half marathon sub2 at VM Hue last year, will return this year.

VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2023 will start at 3 a.m. on April 16 with 10,000 runners. The running route embracing the former citadel landscapes is ready for the race day.
