Nguyen Quang Huy's victory over Thai opponent Chai Kampanart Valsiripattanachai in the low kick -60kg category late on Friday night won Vietnam's the 14th gold medal of the day and the fifth in kickboxing.

Vietnam won another four kickboxing gold medals earlier thanks to Huynh Van Tuan in male's full contact -51kg category, Nguyen Thi Hang Nga in women's full contact -48kg category, Huynh Thi Kim Vang in full contact -65kg and Nguyen The Huong in full contact -67kg category.
Vietnamese kickboxing team have fulfilled their mission of topping the 31st SEA Games. At the previous edition in 2019, they also dominated with four gold medals.
Also on Friday, Vietnam's gymnastics won a gold medal in the men's all around category Friday evening, which is Vietnam's 19th gold medal at the 31st SEA Games.
In bodybuilding, Vietnam won two gold medals thanks to Dang Van Tung and Pham Van Mach's performances, and one silver.
Fencer Vu Thanh An won Vietnam a gold medal by beating his Thailand opponent in the final of individual saber event.

In rowing, Ho Thi Ly, Nguyen Thi Giang, Luong Thi Thao and Pham Thi Thao won a gold medal in women's lightweight quadruple sculls while Dinh Thi Thao and Pham Thi Hue won a gold medal in women's lightweight double sculls.
Vietnamese male rowing athletes also won two silver medals.
In wushu, Hoang Thi Phuong Giang, Pham Quoc Khanh and Duong Thuy Vi fetched three gold medals for Vietnam. Vietnam also got two bronze medals from Nong Van Huu and Dang Tieu Binh.

In basketball, Vietnam won 22-11 against Cambodia in their first game of the event, after eight minutes. They then beat Thailand 21-20.
Vietnam also competed in Pencak silat, volleyball, tennis, table tennis sepak takraw, chess, golf and esports Friday.
