Vietnam broke a SEA Games record in men's 4x200m freestyle relay to beat Malaysia and Singapore and win one of their 17 gold medals Tuesday.

The four-member Vietnamese team finished in 7:16:31 minutes in win the country's first gold medal in the category in SEA Games' history.

They broke the previous record of 7:17:88 minutes. Malaysia won silver medal by finishing in 7:19:75 minutes, while the Singapore team who included Olympic medalist Joseph Schooling won a bronze medal in 7:21:49 minutes.

Vietnam earned a total of 105 gold medals at the 31st SEA Games by the end of Tuesday, remaining on top of the medal table.

Wrestling bagged the country six gold Tuesday.

Ha Van Hieu won gold by beating his Singapore opponent in the men's greco roman 130kg, Nguyen Minh Hieu beat his Thai opponent to win gold in men’s greco roman 97kg.

Earlier, Nghiem Dinh Hieu beat Thailand's Chinathurat to win gold medal in men’s greco roman 87kg. Nguyen Ba Son beat Andika Sulaeman of Indonesia to win gold in men's greco roman 77kg. Bui Tien Hai won gold in 60kg and Bui Manh Hung 67kg, beating Noel Norada Negrosa of the Philippines.

In taekwondo, Truong Thi Kim Tuyen beat her Thai opponent Chutikan Jongkolrattanawattana to win gold medal in 46kg women.

In athletics, veteran runner Nguyen Van Lai won a gold medal in the 10,000m, where Timor Leste won silver and another Vietnamese runner won bronze.

The men's 10,000m run at SEA Games 31.

Nguyen Linh Na won a gold medal in heptathlon, the first for Vietnam at a SEA Games tournament in 17 years.

Heptathlon is a track and field combined contest that consists of seven events (200 meters, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60 metres hurdles, pole vault, 800 meters). Na earned 5,415 points from the seven events, breaking the national record of 5,350 set in 2005.

Quach Thi Lan won a gold medal in women's 400m hurdles, finishing in 00:00:56.330. Her teammate Nguyen Thi Huyen came second in 00:00:56.410 and Robyn Brown of the Philippines came third in 00:00:56.440.

Pham Le Thao Nguyen won a gold medal in women's individual rapid chess and her husband Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son won one in men's.

Pham Thi Bich Lieu won a gold medal in Muay Thai.

Nguyen Thi Huong won a canoeing gold medal in women's canoe single, 1000m. Huong finished in 00:05:00.752, right ahead of fore Indonesia's Riska Andriyani (00:05:09.230), and Myanmar's Thet Phyo Naing (00:05:19.602).

Tran Quoc Cuong won a shooting gold medal by scoring 548 points in men's 50m pistol, which is the second gold medal for Vietnam's shooting at the Games. Ye Tun Naung of Myanmar won silver with 546 points and Thailand's Boriphat Jariyatatkone won bronze with 545.

Vietnam also compete in swimming, pétanque, archery, tennis, sepak takraw, fencing, badminton, golf, bowling, basketball, billiards, table tennis, volleyball, handball, vovinam, beach volleyball and taekwondo Tuesday.
