After beating the Philippines 3-2 Tuesday, Myanmar top Group A now with 6 points, pushing Vietnam into 3rd place at the ongoing SEA Games 31.

Myanmar entered their second game in Viet Tri Stadium in the northern province of Phu Tho with confidence and attacked from the start. Win Naing Tun only needed two minutes to open the score.

In the next 30 minutes, they continued to dominate the game. The gap could have been doubled, but Niang Tun's shot hit the post.

To patch up their defense, coach Norman Salo of the Philippines introduced Miguel Mendoza into the field. And this adjustment immediately took effect. The Philippines regained their balance and pushed back with many attacks. With the Myanmar defense making many mistakes, Salo's team quickly reversed the situation.

First, Jovin Bedic headed in a Mendoza pass to equalize and in the 37th minute, he scored again from the penalty spot after a Myanmar defender fouled Oliver Bias.

In the 51st minute, Lwin Moe Aung helped Myanmar draw level and just two minutes later, Lwin Moe Aung passed the ball from a corner kick for captain Soe Moe Kyaw to apply the finishing touch and take the score to 3-2.

The defeat pushed the Philippines to second place with four points and a +3 difference after three games.

Vietnam did not play today, but their position dropped to third with the same score as the Philippines, albeit with one game less.

The hosts will face Myanmar in their next game Friday.
