Vi Minh Phuc, a representative of the Management Department of Mau Son Tourist Area, told VnExpress that frost began to appear on Monday evening when the temperature dropped below zero.
"Tourists have come to see the frost and ice. By this morning there were about 500-600 visitors, half of whom were from outside the province," Phuc said.
There are three motels on the top of Mau Son with a capacity of more than 100 guests that had been fully booked since Monday morning.
Three other motels about 3 km from the top of the mountain also reported no available rooms.
Other tourists who arrived late and could not find a motel mainly visited Mau Son during daytime and then returned to the city.
"Some people have booked rooms on Mau Son peak until Friday," Phuc added.

Nguyen Xuan Phuong, 48, from Vinh Phuc, was present at the peak. "We were informed that ice was appearing everywhere in Mau Son, so our group of seven went there on Monday evening," said Phuong.
Accommodation was arranged in advance by acquaintances, so he did not encounter any difficulties. Upon arriving there, it was already dark, but he could still see frost and ice everywhere.
"It was so cold, my limbs felt like being frozen, but it was really satisfying," Phuong added.
According to weather forecasts, the temperature in the Mau Son area will remain at the current low level for the next two days.
In Phia Oac mountainous area in Cao Bang, ice also appeared, but this morning it gradually melted. Some tourists who went to Phia Oac peak early in the morning have returned.
Mau Son is about 185 km from Hanoi, close to the Vietnam-China border. It takes nearly four hours to travel from Hanoi while the distance from the foot of the mountain to the top is about 15 km.
