Quang Ninh, home to world famous Ha Long Bay, would debut its nightlife cruise service at Ha Long International Passenger Port from Thursday night to revive its tourism industry.

Thirty tourist boats, all newly designed to ensure safety requirements at night, will be available from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Visitors can enjoy special cuisine while on board these vessels that either stop at the wharf or take tourists around Ha Long Bay.

Vu Thi Van Oanh, deputy head of culture and information department in Ha Long Town, said this would be a new tourism product that allows tourists to experience nightlife in the UNESCO heritage site and diversify travel experiences to boost tourism revenues.

According to Ha Long Tourist Boat Association, 70 percent of 500 plus tourist boats in the world-famous bay currently remain idle due to the absence of Vietnam’s largest international tourist markets like China and South Korea.

Since its recognition as a UNESCO natural world heritage in 1994, Ha Long Bay has found a spot on the global tourism map, with travel bloggers and filmmakers hailing its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone pillars topped by rainforests.

Quang Ninh plans to receive 10 million tourist this year, including 1.5 million foreigners.
