American billionaire Bill Gates' private jet left Da Nang International Airport on Thursday night, wrapping up his 4-day vacation in the central Vietnamese city with his girlfriend.

The plane took off at 9:22 p.m. Flight information was displayed when the aircraft was in the air and the radar was turned on.

During the 4-day trip, he and his girlfriend Paula Hurd stayed at a five-star resort on Son Tra Peninsula. They enjoyed tea together and meditated under the guidance of a Vietnamese tea artiste on Ban Co mountain peak at the height of 400 meters above sea level on Wednesday.

Gates and his girlfriend also played tennis and pickleball at noon on Thursday outside the resort.

Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy Director of the city’s Department of Tourism of Da Nang, said Gates' vacation helped the city boost high-quality tourism development that has been set out for many years.

City leaders sent a welcome letter, thanking him for choosing Da Nang as a tourist destination.

Gates and his girlfriend landed in Da Nang on their private plane, one of Gulfstream G650ER model, on Monday, marking his return to Vietnam after 18 years.

In addition to Gates' visit, Da Nang has recently attracted many rich Indian couples to hold their weddings.
