3 Vietnam resorts named world's best at World Travel Awards

Three luxury resorts in Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Sa Pa have received global honors at this year's World Travel Awards based on votes from the public and travel professionals.

Opposite a stone church in downtown Sa Pa, the hotel carries its Indochina-style architecture and has 249 rooms and suites that allow a direct view of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range and rice terraces.

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort on Son Tra Peninsula was crowned world's leading green resort.

The resort has 201 luxurious rooms, suites, penthouses, and villas that offer views of sandy beaches and tropical forests along Son Tra Peninsula, which is considered as the "green lung" of Da Nang.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa in the southern island Phu Quoc was named world’s leading luxury wedding resort.

Located along Khem Beach, it has 244 rooms and a shell-shaped swimming pool reaching out to sea.

The WTA has been called the "travel industry's equivalent of the Oscars" by The Wall Street Journal.

Organizers said the winners were chosen based on votes by the public and travel professionals across the globe.
